Info about Lulu's Local...
Please join us Saturday, Oct. 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Village Food Market as we happily launch Lulu’s Local: A Distribution Network that supports our cultural economy. Lulu’s Local is a Social Enterprise (see below) in the making that connects local artisan producers with independent merchants, such as our own Village Foods. Any profits will help support local arts and artists. Our dream is that Lulu’s Local will help create relationships that support community food culture, artisan producers and local artists, in a lively, creative and sustainable model.
The seeds for this project were planted with the launch of Lulu’s Lager and with our collaboration with Gabriolan artisan Margot Fedoruk (Starfish Soap Company), who has created the luscious Lulu’s Soap. We are now working with several artisan producers, both from Gabriola and from around the Vancouver Island region, and are very excited to be helping to bring their high quality, sensually appealing and environmentally conscious products to you. We are grateful to Village Foods and to manager, Wayne Howard, for helping us dream Lulu’s Local into reality.
So please stop by after your day of touring Gabriola’s amazing artists’ studios, enjoy some free samples, some lively conversation and a few surprises too. See you there!

Tribune Bay Medium Dark is a 50/50 blend of our Montague Medium Roast and our Desolation Dark Roast single origin, organic, fair trade, Thai coffee.
Our new blend has taken its moniker from the beautiful white sandy beaches that Tribune Bay boosts on Hornby Island, BC.
They say Tribune Bay is about as close to paradise as you can get and we here at Gulf Islands Roasting Co. feel our new Tribune Bay Medium Dark Blend is about as close as you can get to paradise in a cup

Gulf Islands Roasting Co. is proud to announce the addition of three new retail partners on the Mainland.
The first is the East End Food Co-op at 1034 Commercial Drive, Vancouver BC. East End Co-op is featuring our 2 lb bags of all our tasty blends.
Number two is the Valley Cliffe General Store at 38229 Westway Ave, Squamish BC. Look for our display rack there filled with a wide selection of beans to suit your every need.
The last new addition, but clearly not least, is the Queensdale Market at 3030 Lonsdale Ave., North Vancouver BC. Keep your eyes peeled for their ad featuring our coffee in a future edition of the North Shore News.

Customers are now able to order their favourite Gulf Islands coffee blends online!
We've partnered with Shopify, a Canadian online e-commerce platform that allows individuals to create digital stores.
The platform currently hosts over 10,000 online retailers, including stores for Foo Fighters, Angry Birds, Tesla Motors, Amnesty International, and Evisu Jeans.
Shopify has been well-received by popular tech websites such as CNET, who say the platform is “clean, simple, and easy-to-use.”
The service has also been profiled in world publications including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Vancouver Sun, The Financial Post, TechCrunch, and Mashable.
